Policy areas

Core policy areas

IIADP focuses on six core policy areas at the intersection of artificial intelligence, digital technologies and public governance.

AI Governance & Policy

The rules, institutions and standards that guide how artificial intelligence is developed, deployed and overseen. The field covers questions of accountability, safety, transparency and the protection of rights.

Digital Governance & Public Sector Transformation

How governments use digital technologies to deliver public services, manage information and engage with citizens, and the legal, institutional and organisational changes this requires.

Data Protection & Cybersecurity

The legal and technical frameworks that protect personal data and secure digital systems and infrastructure, spanning privacy rights, data governance and resilience against cyber threats.

Digital Economy & Innovation Policy

Policies that shape digital markets, entrepreneurship and technology-driven growth, including regulation, competition, investment conditions and the ecosystems that support innovation.

Technology & Entrepreneurial Diplomacy

The use of technology, innovation and entrepreneurship as channels for international engagement, including cross-border cooperation on technology policy, standards and innovation ecosystems.

Technology & Entrepreneurial Diplomacy is also one of IIADP’s programmes. See the Technology & Entrepreneurial Diplomacy programme.

Systems & Institutional Governance

How public institutions are designed, coordinated and held accountable when viewed as interconnected systems, and how they adapt to technological and policy change.
